spinach dip

This is my mom’s famous Spinach Dip recipe and it does not disappoint. Warning: this stuff is addicting! Once you start, you just can’t stop. It’s always a big hit at all of our gatherings and we can almost guarantee the bowl will be empty by the end. It’s very easy to make and it’s a great appetizer to bring to your next gathering.

INGREDIENTS

1 bag of frozen chopped spinach

16 oz sour cream

1 cup of mayonnaise

1 package Knorr Dry Leek Soup Mix

*Sometimes this can be difficult to find so I liked it here.

1 can (4oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped

3 green onions chopped

1 loaf of sourdough bread

1  loaf of shepherds bread

*We usually double the recipe because this stuff goes fast!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Rinse thawed spinach in a colander. Drain excess water well.

  2. In a bowl, mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, dry leek soup, onions and water chestnuts.

  3. Add spinach to mixture.

  4. Remove the top and insides of the sourdough bread to create a bowl. Serve dip inside the bread bowl.

  5. Cut shepherds bread into 2 in squares and place around the bread bowl.

   ENJOY!

*Dip must be refrigerated until served.
